 ickets\n\nScottish-Algerian poet Janette Ayachi gives a special reading a
 t Bluecoat exploring dual heritage through poetry\, hosted by Deryn Rees-J
 ones.\n\nJanette Ayachi is a Scottish-Algerian poet\, London-born &amp\; 
 Edinburgh-based. She has a BA combined honours degree in English Literatur
 e &amp\; Film Media Studies (Stirling University) &amp\; an MSc in Creativ
 e Writing (Edinburgh University)\n\nShe’s a regular on BBC Scotland arts
  programmes (and has even starred in a whisky advert!) Her poetry\, prose 
 and essays have been published internationally &amp\; translated into seve
 ral languages. She also collaborates with artists and performs her poetry 
 at festivals or events.\n\nShe is the author of Hand Over Mouth Music (P
 avilion\, Liverpool University Press) which won the Saltire Poetry Book of
  the Year Literary Award 2019 and Quick Fire\, Slow Burning (Pavilion\, 
 LUP) released in April 2024.\n\nShe is writing her travel memoir Lonerlus
 t about travelling alone searching landscapes\, culture\, desire and huma
 n connection\, alongside her debut fiction novel\, Of Sweet Figs and For

 oetry. \n\nDeryn Rees-Jones is Professor of Poetry at the University of
