SUMMARY:Bluecoat: Bluecoat: Larissa Sansour: In the Future\, They Ate From
 the Finest Porcelain
DESCRIPTION:Palestinian artist Larissa Sansour returns with a major solo sh
ow across the ground floor galleries\; an extension of her current project
In the Future\, They Ate From The Finest Porcelain.\nIn the Future They A
te From the Finest Porcelain resides in the cross-section between sci-fi\,
archaeology and politics. Combining live motion and CGI\, the film explor
es the role of myth for history\, fact and national identity.  A narrativ
e resistance group makes underground deposits of elaborate porcelain - sug
gested to belong to an entirely fictional civilisation. Their aim is to in
fluence history and support future claims to their vanishing lands. Once u
nearthed\, this tableware will prove the existence of this counterfeit peo
ple. By implementing a myth of its own\, their work becomes a historical i
ntervention - de facto creating a nation.\nThe exhibition includes an awar
d winning film (Best Experimental Short at the Guanajuato International Fi
lm Festival)\, artefacts including the porcelain of the title and a new su
spended sculptural installation supported by the Danish Arts Council.\nIma
