SUMMARY:Bluecoat: Bluecoat: Joshua Clague: and it feels like I just got hom
 e
DESCRIPTION:Joshua Clague: and it feels like I just got home\nFriday 9th Fe
bruary - Monday 1st April\n\nJoshua Clague’s and it feels like I just go
t home\, echoes Madonna’s Ray of Light. Clague is interested in enduring
memories of the female voice in his life. The exhibition often riffs on t
he pop-icons and divas that he once emulated. His work lays out how his se
nse of self changes at different times\, in different places.\n\nClague ha
s a longstanding connection with the Bluecoat. He has had a studio space a
t Bluecoat since March 2023 as part of the New Contemporaries Studio Bursa
ry and has also used the gallery over the last few months as a space for m
aking new work.\n\nJoshua Clague is a visual artist. Originally from Merse
yside\, Clague recently graduated from Goldsmiths\, University of London.
Working with writing\, installation\, textiles\, photography and performan
ce\, their work crystallises themes of love\, memory\, family\, fandom and
form.\n\nClague has recently exhibited as part of Bloomberg New contempor
aries 2022 in both Ferens Art Gallery and South London Gallery.
