SUMMARY:Bluecoat: Bluecoat: Everything Lives: Looking at the Artist as Fath
 er (2016) by Huw Wahl
DESCRIPTION:Everything Lives: Looking at the Artist as Father (2016) by Huw
  Wahl\n\nThu\, 14 Sep 2017 | 6.30 PM - 7.30 PM | Tickets: £4/£3\n\nBook
here\n\n\nMy father tells me that time travels through him\, before him an
d after him\, as if he were on a platform watching a train slowly passing
by. It seems that reaching a milestone in age (ninety) has brought up ques
tions of 'time left'. But how can there be an end to anything as infinite
as your own time?\n\n\n\n\nPart observation\, part performance\, and a col
laboration between father and son\, Everything Lives is a short film by Hu
w Wahl which looks at how his father\, artist Ken Turner\, experiences ti
me in the barns where he works\; the time he spends playing\, the time uni
que to painting or the time it takes to build a whole life.\n\n\n\n\nThis
short film is an intimate series of surfaces\, sounds and events that toge
ther form their subject: the artist as father.\n\n\n\n\nKen Turner and his
wife Mary Turner founded Action Space in 1968\, the purpose of which
was to change the way artists and the arts related to society. They explor
ed new ways to engage with the public using creative spaces such as inflat
able structures.\n\nHuw Wahl works with video\, film and photography. His
work has been shown in cinemas\, community centres\, film festivals\, art
galleries and squats. He is interested in the crossover where documentary
film and art film meet.\n\n\nHuw Wahl: Everything Lives (2016) is an Aba
cus related event.\n\nImage: Music inside an air structure\, Ken &amp\
