 nSunday 17 April 2016\, 11.00 - 17.00\n\nSpend the day improving on your 
 basic knowledge of jewellery making in metal with this workshop learning h
 ow to solder using both copper and silver.\n\nIn this workshop you would l
 earn the basic skills of soldering\, how to correctly prepare the metal to
  solder\, how to use the soldering torch and flux. You will learn which so
 lder to use for different connections and how to finish a piece after it h
 as been soldered together.\n\nDuring the day you will design and create yo
 ur own sterling silver ring and a pendant made from a combination of coppe
 r and silver.\n\nYou will get to practice your own basic skills of sawing\
 , drilling\, filing\, polishing and texturing during the process.\nAll mat
 erials and tools will be provided.\n\nTutor: Helen Leigh Dolan\n"I am an a
 rtist jeweller with a degree in Design. I run my own business\, creating h
 and-made modern\, minimalist pieces. All of my work is individually made u
 sing traditional techniques in my home studio. I mainly work in silver\, c
 opper and aluminium\, allowing the hand of the maker to be seen in each pi
 ece. My jewellery can be found in a number of shops and galleries around L
 iverpool.\n\nI have always loved art\, craft and creativity and from a you
 ng age I was never without a sketchbook in my hand. This love of creating 
 led to my gaining a degree in design at Liverpool Hope University. Here I 
 experienced a number of craft disciplines\; textiles\, ceramics\, woodwork
 \, but specialised in silversmithing and metalwork with which I completely
