DESCRIPTION:Jewellery Making in Metal (10 Week Course)\n\n\nLearn the basic
  techniques of jewellery making and make a piece of jewellery each week! I
 ncludes how to use a jeweller's piercing saw\, drilling\, filing and polis
 hing metal correctly and how to create colour\, texture and patinas on met

 9pm starting 9th May 2017 (£170 for 10 sessions)\n\n\nProgram\n\nWeek 1: 
 Basic Sawing and Drilling\n\n 	Learn how to install a saw blade into a pie
 rcing saw frame.\n 	Learn about the different blades and which to use for 
 different materials.\n 	Practice the correct grip of the saw and learn how
  to cut metal using a jewellers piercing saw.\n 	Learn how to use a drill 
 and it’s uses in cutting shapes in metal.\n\nWeek 2: Fretwork Piercing\,
  Filing and Sanding\n\n 	Create a design to cut out of metal\, using the t
 echniques practiced in week 1.\n 	Incorporate sawing curves and straight l
 ines in the design.\n 	Introduction to files and their correct uses.\n 	Le
 arn about the different grades of wet and dry sandpaper to sand and polish
  metal.\n\nWeek 3: Making an Impression\n\n 	Experiment with creating text
 ures in metal using centre punches and hammers.\n 	Use the surrounding env
 ironment to find and create textures on the surface of sheet metal.\n\nWee
 k 4: Tabs – Trapping Objects\n\n 	Create a pendant by cutting tabs into 
 the sheet metal in order to trap objects to create a pendant.\n\nWeek 5: E
 arrings and Findings\n\n 	Learn the correct use of different jewellery fin
 dings.\n 	Make your own earring hooks\, eyepins and headpins.\n 	Design an
 d make a pair of earrings hung on earring hooks you have made.\n\nWeek 6: 
 Slotted Pendant\n\n 	Using a slot system to create a 3D pendant\n\nWeek 7:
  Rings\n\n 	Create a selection of adjustable rings in different designs an
 d textures.\n\nWeek 8: Design Your Own Jewellery\n\n 	Design a piece of je
 wellery to create.\n 	Taking inspiration from all the techniques learnt fr
 om the previous weeks.\n 	Learn how to transfer the design onto your chose
 n metal.\n 	Practice and experiment the techniques that are going to be us
 ed in the final jewellery design.\n\nWeek 9 &amp\; 10: Create and complete

 y design where I specialised in metal-smithing. Prior to this I studied wo
