B y combining textures with unusual mediums\, the end result is the creative accomplishment. Many techniques\, materials and compositions play off eac h other when creating the piece. There is adventure in not knowing where y ou are going with it until you get there!\nThis workshop will present seve ral methods of collecting and arranging\, cutting apart and reconnecting\, and building materials onto canvas.\nThis workshop/course is suitable for any anybody who loves experiment with colour and pattern\, or anybody who has never tried before and just wants to have a go!\nSunday 25th February 2018\, 11am - 5pm\, £45\nProgramme\nAfter an introduction to a range of contemporary artists who work in mixed media\, the tutor will lead an inte ractive demonstration using a variety of materials (oil pastel\, chalk pas tel\, gouache paints\, acrylic\, ink\, PVA glue) and how they can work wel l together.\nUsing collage\, you can experiment using textures and explore the difference between opaque/transparent medium and layering. Let go of the outcome and express yourself with experimentation of new techniques. L earn tips for the process of design and transferring image and create your own canvas to take home at the end ot the session.\nTutor: Eimear Kavanag h\n\nBorn in Ireland in 1973\, Eimear studied BA Hons in Textiles and Surf ace Pattern Design at Bretton Hall University of Leeds\, graduating in 199 9. Based in Liverpool\, Eimear works as a mixed media artist with a varied wealth of experience in the arts. Her body of work and previous commissio ns have taken her to India\, Australia and back to Ireland. She has worked within fashion\, public street art\, textiles\, illustration\, album cove r design\; stage set design\, tattoo art\, schools education &\; commun ity workshops.
