  more experienced painters wanting to try something new and exciting.\n\nP
 rogram\n\nDay 1 will begin with an introduction to various materials and t
 extures with examples of abstract styles. During the second half of the da
 y you will put the introductions into practice and use acrylic paints\, co
 llage\, and drawing materials to explore a visual world beyond the usual d
 esign principles and concerns of composition. You’ll begin with an under
 lying structure/theme\, then move to a broader visual improvisation where 
 you get to create-as-you-go.\n\nDay 2 will focus on composition. You will 
 explore factors which all working together at once\; colour\, line\, shape
 \, contrast\, focal area and movement. will look at opposites\; saturated 
 and neutral\, dark and light\, busy and quiet\, textured and flat. Looking
  into the arrangement of these elements and their relationship to one anot
 her you will learn how to put these onto paper together producing an aesth
 etically pleasing arrangements.\n\nDay 3 will be combining days 1 and 2 pl
 us a short experimentation with layering for depth\, self-exploring\, and 
 finally concluding in creating an 'abstract self-portrait'\, with discussi
 ons and constructive feedback.\nTutor: Emily Bartlett\nEmily is an experie
 nced trainer and artist\, who has taught painting to children and adults i

  course must be booked in advance)\nIt is possible to split this cost into

 u will need to provide some of your own materials to take with you. Ticket
