SUMMARY:Bluecoat Display Centre: Bluecoat Display centre: In The Window: Hu
 gh Miller
DESCRIPTION:Hugh Miller / Saturday 1st August 2020 - Monday 31st August 202
0\n\nWe are delighted to show Hugh’s exceptional furniture for the month
of August.\n\n\nHugh trained as an architect\, and sees his furniture as
small pieces of architecture\, where the concept is embedded in the intric
acy of the detail. The studio has developed a unique and recognisable desi
gn language\, heavily influenced by our founder’s time studying in Japan
as a Churchill Research Fellow.\n\nWe have an expanding collection of exq
uisitely made pieces of timeless furniture and\, being handmade and finish
ed\, these can be customised to meet the most specific of client requireme
nts. We are also pleased to accept bespoke commissions\, creating unique p
ieces of heirloom quality cabinetry.\n\nOur materials pallet spans the fam
iliar to the unusual. We use British timbers\, selected by hand\, and comb
ine them with materials such as Japanese bamboo\, marine-grade brass\, and
full-grain leather. These materials illuminate the duality of cultural in
fluences that underpin our studio.\n\nIn addition to creating our studio c
ollection and bespoke pieces\, we also design for established luxury brand
 s. Recent collaborations include a coffee table and side table for Benchma
rk Furniture\, an ArtSuite bedroom for the IceHotel in Sweden\, and a limi
ted edition gift box for Savoir Beds.\n\n
