Celebrating Irish Makers | 10 October – 2 November 2024
To celebrate Bluecoat Display Centre’s long-standing partnership with the Liverpool Irish Festival, this autumn they are showcasing a group of Irish makers that have previously exhibited in their window on College Lane during past Festivals (historically supported by the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland), alongside established Irish makers who are regularly displayed in the gallery.
In addition, Bdc have chosen a selection of emerging and established Northern Irish makers from the ‘Reaction’ exhibition at the Craft NI Gallery in Belfast. The event is a highlight of the much anticipated month-long celebration of craft which takes place across the island of Ireland in August, an exhibition that seeks to celebrate and profile excellence in the NI craft sector.
Makers include:
Jewellery by Alan Ardiff, Berina Kelly, Maureen Lynch & Caitlin Murphy
Ceramics by Mike Byrne, Adam Frew & Christy Keeney
Glass by Scott Benefield
Wood by Kathleen Walsh
Mixed Media by Sarah Cathers
With more to be confirmed soon…
This display sits alongside the 2024 Liverpool Irish Festival featured maker ‘In the Window’, Michael Murphy.
