SUMMARY:Bluecoat: Bluecoat: Birds\, Bugs and Botanicals of the Bluecoat: A
 Blue Room Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Artists from Blue Room\, the Bluecoat’s inclusive arts projec
t present a new collection of works exploring the biodiversity of our urba
n garden.\n\nGreen spaces such as the Bluecoat garden have long been a sou
rce of inspiration for artists. The exhibition celebrates the often overlo
oked flora and fauna of urban spaces and the important role nature plays i
n creating a nurturing space for city dwellers.\n\nThe works in the exhibi
tion depict commonly observed birds and insects found in the Bluecoat gard
en. In collaboration with ceramic artist Olivia Rowan from local studio Cl
ay Workshop\, the artists created 3D sculptures using recycled clay. Obser
vational drawings of flora and fauna have been collaged into screen printe
d collaborative works created in the Bluecoat Print Studio.\n\nFeaturing w
 orks by Alfred Beesley\, Amy Dykes\, Susan King\, Tracey Ledley\, Andrew M
 ellor\, Kayleigh Murray\, William Richardson\, John Rigby\, Ottman Said\,
Jean Smith\, John Steele\, Jane Walsh\, and Veronica Watson.
