DESCRIPTION:Over a 3 day course you will learn a variety of traditional pai

 sessions)\n\n----------------------------------\n\nProgramme:\n\nThis pain
 ting course will be open to all abilities from complete beginners to those
  who haven’t picked up a paintbrush since school\, to those who use art 
 as a hobby\, as well as artists wanting to develop their own work and prac
 tice. Over the course of 3 weeks\, you will develop your awareness of pain
 ting using acrylic as a unique means of visual communication.\n\nEach sess
 ion will give you the opportunity to use your imagination and develop thos
 e inventive processes alongside traditional and contemporary techniques. Y
 ou will make art as an artist does and develop your project from its conce
 ptual beginning to its physical end. The course will help you develop a de
 eper understanding of art and how as practitioners we think and realise wo
 rk.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nDay 1: Introduction\n\n 	Basics of acrylic paint\, prope
 rties\, and solvents\n 	Properties of colour: value\, saturation\, and hue
 \n 	Colour theory: primary\, secondary\, and the rest\; colour mixing\n 	M
 aking value and saturation charts\n 	Mixing secondary colours as well as s
 ome random target colours\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nDay 2: Drawing and painting from a
  picture\n\n 	Introduction to gridding method to draw and paint from a pri
 nted and digital pictures\n 	Creating painting from one printed and one di
 gital photo using a grid.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nDay 3: Drawing and painting from l
 ife\n\n 	With the techniques learnt over the previous 2 days\, you will ap
 ply your learning to execute a drawing and painting from life.\n\n&nbsp\;\
 n\nTutor: Laleh Kamalian\n\nLaleh Kamalian is a self-taught artist who fou
 nd art at a late stage of her life after a long career in medicine and sci
 ence. Her favourite subject is human portrait\, where she aims to show the
  characteristics and emotions of the portrayed to the best of her ability.
  However\, she enjoys describing the nature beauties in the form of flower
 s\, scenery\, or wildlife with her art too.\n\nDates\n\n1st\, 8th and 15th
  October\n\nVenue\n\nBluecoat\, School Lane\, Liverpool\, L1 3BX\n\nSituat
 ed in the centre of Liverpool\, just behind Church Street\, down Church Al
 ley and in front of Liverpool ONE. You can enter the building via the fron
 t courtyard off School Lane\, or through the garden at the back off Colleg

 0 for more details.\n\nMaterials\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nAcrylic paint: A set\, or i
 ndividual tubes\, that contain at least titanium white\, red\, yellow\, bl
 ue\, and black.\n\nBrushes: Synthetic brushes suitable for acrylic paint\,
  at least in three sizes\, small\, medium\, and large (not wider than 2 cm
 ). If you are getting a set\, they normally come in different shapes. If y
 ou are buying them individually\, go for filbert.\n\nPaper: A pad of paper
  suitable for acrylic paint\, size A3.\n\nPalette knife: Go for a longer s
 hape such as diamond or rectangular shape.\n\nPainting palette: I recommen
 d a pad of disposable pallet papers\, although you can get a rigid one (wo
 oden or plastic) or use disposable paper plates.\n\nA pencil\n\nAn eraser\
 n\nA pencil sharpener\n\nPlease bring with you a cup\, or jar for water\n\
