SUMMARY:Artwork Studios & Gallery: Artwork Studios: Creative Textiles Cours

DESCRIPTION:On this course you will create embellished textile art\, learni
 ng to work with materials including ribbons\, fabrics\, beads &amp\; fibre
 s using techniques including stitch\, hooking\, felting &amp\; hand embroi
 dery. You will build a small portfolio of sample experiments and work towa
 rds developing your ideas for more considered finished pieces.\n\nYou will
  be encouraged to evaluate successes and failures in a constructive way th
 at enables progress and helps your confidence to grow.\n\nThis course assu
 mes no prior artistic ability and is suitable for beginners\, but experien
 ced artists who wish to explore textile art-making are also welcome to joi
 n this class.\n\nSome basic materials are available for you to experiment 
 with until you decide what you need to buy for your own use\, and advice w
 ill be given on what to buy and where to buy it from.  Using recycled and
  freely available low-cost materials is actively encouraged. Small group -
  maximum of 6 places are available on this course.\n\nYou will be working 
 in a warm\, creative and inspiring environment inside the Studio where oth
 er resident artists work is on display. There is good natural light\, park
 ing right at the door in our own car park\, central heating and double gla
 zing to keep you feeling cosy!\n\nEach class lasts for 2 hours and runs fo
 r 4 weeks\, but if you wish to continue on a regular basis then the course
  will roll on throughout the year if numbers permit.\n\nThe next class beg
 ins on Thursday January 12\, 19\, 26 Feb 2 1pm till 3.\n\nThe tutor for t
 his course is Carolyn Shepherd who is qualified with a First Class Honours
  degree in Fine Art &amp\; Postgraduate Certificate in Fine Art and has ex
 hibited internationally and across the UK. Carolyn is currently completing
  a Masters Degree in Conceptual Art in a Community Context based on her pe
