1958. He studied at Ulster Polytechnic and Belfast College of Art &amp\; D
esign\, Ulster University 1976-1980. From 1980-1999 he lived and worked in

ation works have been presented at major museums\, galleries and sites thr
oughout the world.\n\nAlthough Stitt’s reputation was founded on his int
ernational career as a live artist\, he trained as a painter and his recen
t works over the past ten years are the result of his re-focusing on the m
aterials\, processes and performance of painting.\n\nCIVICS brings togethe
r a significant number of the artist’s paintings a number of which are i
nspired by the artist’s visits to Skelmersdale in 2017. This exhibition
also includes a collection of new ceramics\, made in collaboration with Ch
risoula Kostankakou\, based on designs of concrete underpasses by Mike Cum
iskey in Skelmersdale new town.\n\nThe paintings and ceramics are installe
d throughout the main university building. Exhibition Maps available from
the Arts Centre or Main University Reception.\n\nFull information about t
