SUMMARY:Street and a Half: Artist-Led St Helens present SHIFT
DESCRIPTION:\nPreview Night – 6–9pm\, 5th December at Street and a Half
 .\nBooking link: https://shiftexhibition.eventbrite.com\n\n\n\n\nWith supp
ort from Arts Council England\, the UK Government\, and St Helens Council\
, Artist-Led St Helens presents SHIFT\,  a major group exhibition curated
and produced by Tobias Ferguson as part of his role as Trainee Producer.
Curated as both an experiment and a community collaboration\, SHIFT unites
more than twenty artists\, designers\, and creative practitioners in an e
xploration of transformation and change.\n\nInformed by the circadian rhyt
hm\, the body’s natural 24-hour cycle that keeps us in sync with light a
nd time\, the exhibition unfolds across two rooms. Each is designed to emb
ody a distinct cycle: one alive with the energy of morning\, the other imm
ersed in the calm of night. Within these environments\, the artworks are p
ositioned to resonate with their respective atmospheres\, forming a spatia
l rhythm that reflects the body’s continual shifts between motion and st
illness.\n\nThe participating artists\, spanning disciplines from architec
ture to psychology\, respond to SHIFT through installations\, time-based m
edia\, and material experimentation. The artists create a dialogue that mo
ves between the personal and the planetary\, connecting private reflection
with collective experience.\n\nAt its core\, SHIFT proposes the exhibitio
n as a living ecosystem\, one that repositions St Helens as a site of cont
emporary cultural production. It reflects a growing movement towards acces
sibility\, inclusivity\, and participation within the visual arts\, inviti
ng audiences not only to view but to inhabit moments of transition.\n\nSHI
FT embodies Tobias’s mission to cultivate new ways of seeing\, making\,
and belonging within the town’s evolving creative landscape\, a testamen
t to the transformative power of collective imagination.\n\n
