SUMMARY:ArtHouse Gallery: ArtHouse SCA: Aestheticism - Sam Harris-Wright
DESCRIPTION:'Aestheticism' - Paintings and Illustration from Sam Harris-Wri
ght\n\nA meander through various subject narratives and themes\; greatly i
nspired by the beauty witnessed travelling throughout the world\, from Cal
ifornia to Croatia.\n\n"When used as an adjective\, aesthetic describes th
e appreciation of beauty\; when used as a noun\, I define aesthetic as the
principles that hold true when creating that which is aesthetic in descri
ption\, that which is appreciative of beauty. It is this relationship\, th
e link between that which defines beauty and the beauty itself that has le
d to a lifelong obsession with exploring how the two relate.\n\nThe work e
xhibited here meanders through various subject narratives and themes\; gre
atly inspired by the beauty witnessed travelling throughout the world\, fr
om California to Croatia\, from the fox in the back garden to the birds in
the trees\, from the comics read as a child to the iconic characters witn
essed on screen.\n\nThe commonality to be found lies within the ethos that
defines the technique: Creation of bold and striking lines\, colourful an
d collaborative in nature\, beautiful in themselves and even more so in co
mbination with each other. That which is simple in definition\, a line wit
h a start and end\, yet difficult in practice\, combining those lines to f
orm something of greater meaning\, has routinely served as inspiration thr
oughout my career and it is this that I hope shines through from the work
 on exhibition."\n\nArtHouse Gallery\, 65 Eastbank Street Southport PR8 1EJ
