SUMMARY:ArtHouse Gallery: ArtHouse Gallery: Meet the Artist: Pam Thomas
DESCRIPTION:Symphony of Nature\n\nSolo Show by Pam Thomas\n\nArtHouse\, 65
  Eastbank Street\, Southport\, Merseyside\, PR8 1EJ\n\nThere will be th
ree opportunities to ‘Meet the Artist’ in the gallery\, 1-3pm on Fri
 day 7th March\, Tuesday 11th March and Thursday 20th March. \n\nAbout
 the exhibition:\n\n4th – 22nd March 2025\n\nPV: Tuesday 4th March 6-8
pm\n\nFollowing on from last year’s successful exhibition at The ArtHou
se in Southport\, Liverpool born artist\, Pam Thomas\, will once again be
putting her expressive talent on show during March with a further thought
provoking collection of artwork entitled ‘Symphony of Nature’.\n\n“
In my previous exhibition\, ‘Our Fragile World\,’ I aimed to highlight
the delicate balance of our ecosystems and the urgent need to acknowledge
and protect the wildlife that surrounds us. It was a reflection on loss -
loss of habitats\, species and the intricate connections that sustain lif
e on our planet. With ‘Symphony of Nature’ I am building upon this fou
ndation by celebrating the exciting beauty of nature while at the same tim
e encouraging its preservation.”\n\nThis diverse new showcase of artwork
unmistakably validates Pam’s dedication to using her own creativity
“as a means of encouraging a positive change in the world”.\n\nPam’s
artistic journey began at an early age with a fascination for drawing and
painting people that inevitably led to enrolling onto a Foundation Course
at Mid-Cheshire College where she first developed her love for ceramics.
The experience changed her creative outlook and in 2000 Pam went on to gra
duate with a B.Des (Hons) in ceramics and textiles from Liverpool Hope Uni
versity.\n\nAlthough her preferred medium remains ceramics\, Pam also enjo
ys working with paint and stitch to further develop her initial concepts a
nd ideas.\n\n“Through my work\, I invite the viewers to immerse themselv
es in the rhythms of nature\, fostering a sense of wonder and a call to ac
tion. As I weave these elements together - music\, wildlife and the thread
s of our shared environment - I hope to inspire a deeper connection to our
world and an awareness of our role in its conservation.”\n\nEscalating
concerns for the degenerating state of the environment have inevitably sha
ped her recent work. Witnessing the loss of butterflies in her garden and
the pollution plaguing the world has dramatically impacted on her creative
direction. Through her art\, Pam aims to shed light on these issues\, pro
voking thought and inspiring action towards a more sustainable future.\n\n
“This new body of work captures the harmony and interdependence found wi
thin the natural world. The clay musicians symbolize the joy and artistry
inherent in life\, mirroring the melodies of ecosystems they inhabit. Each
piece reflects not only a celebration of nature’s splendour but an ackn
owledgment of its fragility.”\n\n‘Symphony of Nature’ positively re
inforces Pam’s creative mission through her artistic observations: “I
am hoping the work will get people thinking about how we are damaging the
world and what we are leaving for the next generation to sort out”.\n\n
Certainly not one to be missed\, this latest display by Pam will be on sho
 w at the ArtHouse\, Eastbank Street\, Southport from 4th – 22nd March
2025.  The gallery is open Tuesday – Friday 10.00-15.00.  Saturday
11.00-16.00. \n\nThere will be three opportunities to ‘Meet the Artist
 ’ in the gallery\, 1-3pm on Friday 7th March\, Tuesday 11th March and
  Thursday 20th March.
