DESCRIPTION:This event is part of the A Global City: connections\, reflecti
 ons and exceptions programme. Through a series of events\, the Museum of L
 iverpool is looking to explore what makes Liverpool a ‘global city’ an
 d how its history and culture have been shaped by\, and continue to influe
 nce\, the world around it.\n\nMuseum of Liverpool\n16th August\, 1-4pm\nBO
 OK TICKETS HERE\n\nThe Independents Biennial has been showcasing the work 
 of grassroots artists since 1999 and has been known by various names inclu
 ding Tracey\, Biennial Fringe and Liverpool Independents. It is managed by
  Art in Liverpool but programmed at venues and locations across the city-r
 egion by artists\, artist groups\, art studios and artist networks. The ar
 tist-led festival\, which runs concurrently to Liverpool Biennial\, is cre
 ated to showcase the vibrant art and art scene of the city-region.\n\nHost
 ed by Kazem Ashourzadeh (Artist and Director of Mr Boy Cookery School CIC)
 \, Advocate (Mental Health and Human Rights activist) and Michelle Wren (A
 rtist and Human Rights Activist)\, we will explore how solidarity can exte
 nd beyond the language of immigration to acknowledge people's expertise\, 
 interests and aspirations.\n\nThe event will feature two artworks\, ‘Put
  Your Feet In My Shoes’ and ‘My Dream Is A World Without Hatred’ tha
 t share the experiences of local people in Liverpool who are seeking asylu
 m\, followed by a talk and Q&amp\;A from the producers.\n\nThe audience wi
 ll then be invited to join a participatory workshop that looks at ways we 
 can implement anti-racist approaches across institutions and in our daily 
 lives by identifying the skills\, knowledge and social capital we have tha
 t can support people to access opportunities and navigate institutions so 
 they can live beyond survival in the UK.\n\nFor full event details click
