We’re looking for a Cultural Engagement Coordinator to support learning disabled people on our groundbreaking ‘Cultural Enrichment Programme’ of work placements in many of Manchester’s leading museums, galleries and theatres. We are looking for someone who has experience of working alongside learning disabled people and a has a passion for heritage, arts and culture. The successful candidate will support adults and young people  on structured 16 week work placements in Museums and Galleries in the Manchester area. Each placement is designed with each individual at its heart to ensure the best possible experience for all so we are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ and supportive approach who is used to planning and delivering cultural projects.

Venture Arts is an award-winning visual arts charity based in Hulme, Manchester. We strive for people with learning disabilities to engage with and gain recognition in art, culture and society. We support adults and young people with learning disabilities to reach their full potential. We deliver 1000+ visual arts projects per year, working with over 200 people. We nurture individual talents and creativity. Our fully accessible professional arts studio provides a social, safe and inspiring environment. Our professional artists deliver our dynamic artistic programme. Each bespoke project supports everyone to discover and develop their unique artistic identity with artists exhibiting and selling their work locally, nationally and internationally.  Our work with cultural venues is aimed at enabling people to gain meaningful employment within cultural settings and we run a full programme of work in schools and with young people too.
