Yesterday was slightly surreal. In the morning I was balancing on top of a wheelie bin to gain a better view of the Liverpool FC players training at Melwood. I am a fan but had never been here before, I’m not that fanatical but its a long story. Got the bus back into town and went to the Radisson Hotel for an exhibition by Tony Brown which wasn’t there! Apparently last Thursday evening’s event which I missed was the exhibition. What a strange idea!
So had an expensive, weak, small coffee and went into the Atrium of the Echo building to look at the Cartoon exhibition. Its a new annual event as part of the comedy festival and this years theme is (surprise!) The Sea. There’s some good ones there, even when they’re not funny you can appreciate the artwork. There are works by 2 dozen cartoonists including Steve Best (Bestie), Ralph Steadman, Bill Stott, Bill Tidy and Pete Williams.
Finishes on Sat July 16th.
