BA (Hons) Fine Art Painting at University Centre St Helens
Our BA (Hons) Fine Art Painting programme is delivered within the School of Creative and Performing Arts at University Centre St Helens. Specialising in the teaching of painting, it is a unique course offered at only a few institutions in the UK.
During the course, students have the opportunity to develop an understanding of technical, philosophical and aesthetic aspects of painting. They are encouraged to innovate and experiment to build a relevant and exciting individual practice to enter the art world as painters.
The course is taught by experienced and practicing painters and students have generous and regular contact with tutors. We teach painting in a variety of ways, through tutorials, seminars, technical workshops, lectures, artist talks, visits and events. We also have excellent connections with universities and galleries across the northwest enabling students to access opportunities during and after their time on the programme.
Students benefit from having their own spacious studio space as well as access to other facilities across the College. Our graduate students work as painters, they work in the creative industries and they study painting at postgraduate level.
