Deadline: Friday 5 February 2016.
The Forge Artist Development Programme
Wild Rumpus CIC are offering up an exciting opportunity for emerging creatives who are seeking a beautiful environment and support to develop their work. This project will particularly suit those with an interest in outdoor arts.
After a successful first year in 2015, we are looking to again share our woodland office space, The Whirligig, with a group of creatives from a wide range of disciplines (eg. Digital, textiles, set design, fine art, music, performance, literature, sculpture, craft etc) for 3 – 6 months over summer 2016. In some, but not all, cases this may develop into a paid piece of work to feed into our events such as the Just So Festival.
We are very flexible as to how the successful applicants use the space, it could be just to provide a space for reflection and developing ideas, or to create physical artwork, or rehearsal space for outdoor theatre, circus or dance, it entirely depends on the direction applicants work is developing in.
Introduction to The Forge:
The Forge is a rural space designed for young creatives (or for those more experienced who are changing direction) to develop work, primarily in outdoor arts, while fostering a community environment of collaboration and learning. We encourage and support those working in a creative capacity through our tailored programme.
Beneficiaries of the Forge will be provided with a free desk space in a converted horse-box or caravan, with their overheads and utilities covered to allow individuals time to hone their practice, grow their networks and receive feedback.
