Exciting opportunity to get involved with public engagement activities and development of a long term on-line presence for a new ceramics studio in the Baltic Triangle.
If you want to raise your professional profile both in Liverpool and with a potentially new national audience, please get in contact to find out more.
Newly qualified and start up entrepreneurs welcome.
Baltic Clay is the only ceramics studio in Liverpool that provides space and equipment for semi-professional and professional artists to work in clay. We are newly based in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, an area fast becoming the city’s digital and cultural quarter, with an ever expanding number of independent businesses, clubs, cafes and exhibition areas.
Project / Support Required: Our initial need is for videography support to capture the activities of our “Light Night” project on Friday 13th May 2016.
Light Night is Liverpool’s annual late night arts festival, when over 100 of the city’s arts and heritage organisations join forces to create a large scale showcase of the city’s talent. Last year the event attracted over 65,000 people to activities across Liverpool, representing an estimated PR value of £120,000, and with the festival website receiving over 184,000 hits.
We will continue to promote the project after the event using social media, and articles in national magazines such as Ceramic Review and Crafts, as well as the national media.
Our plan is to cover two 8 x 4 foot tables in our studio in clay, creating a miniature landscape that can be endlessly changed and altered by visitors. We want to have this evolving landscape professionally filmed and photographed to create a time lapse record of the clay landscape as it is manipulated and changed by visitors. The finished film will be put online so that it becomes a permanent record of the event.
This is why we want your help.
Baltic Clay’s ‘Light Night’ project will be a totally interactive event, inclusive, fun and unique. It represents an exciting experiment to explore a new way of engaging with the wider public, and to test the potential of video as a digital marketing tool.
Informed by this experience, we plan to prepare a grant application to secure funding for development, exhibition and online activities for Baltic Clay for the next three years. If you are interested in a long term collaboration, we will need your input with drafting elements of the bid, including costs. If successful, this application will provide the funding for your on-going involvement with Baltic Clay.
“Light Night” Project Time Commitment: 2 x pre-event meetings; set up and involvement on the night (est. 3pm – midnight); post event production of video; event debrief and forward planning meeting.
Budget: No budget available for Night Light project, though food and drink will be provided. Your involvement will be clearly acknowledged in all publicity and articles, including national publications. Potential for longer term collaboration funded through grant application.
