Terrestrial – 2020 Remote Residencies: OPEN CALL

2020 Remote Residencies:
OPEN CALL

A paid opportunity for community artists across England to develop their local connections and explore new ways of working.

We want to invest in artists to foster community links with people and groups local to wherever they are based. And to take some time for research and reflection… to think about the work they’ve done in the past and how they might continue to share artistic experiences with community collaborators in the near future.

There are four stages to this process:

Open call: we share this opportunity far and wide, and we work with a panel (made up of artists, producers and collaborators) to choose a shortlist of community artists.

Conversations: we invite 20 shortlisted artists to take part in a recorded chat about their work, which we then share as a public resource on our website.

Residencies: we host 8-10 artists to take part in one of two remote residencies (25-29 August & 15-19 September).  This will involve spending time at home doing their own research, reaching out to people and groups in their local community, and sharing ideas and experiences with other artists around the country.

Commissions: we follow this process with some small commissions for artists and community partners to work together on local projects.

Fee:
£150 for all shortlisted artists to cover the time to record a conversation with us.
£700 for residency artists.

We will do our very best to provide and/or pay for anything you need in order to apply for or take part in this residency (this includes any access needs and childcare costs).

Deadline: Friday 24th July, 5pm.

If you have any questions, or would like someone to talk you through the opportunity, please email producer Hattie Gregory: hattie@terrestrial.org.uk
