Made to be Seen – Call for Applications
Family Touring Commission for Non Traditional Spaces

Creative Scene is the Arts Council England Creative People & Places project for North Kirklees, West Yorkshire. We aim to make art a part of everyday life for the people we are working with.

Through the project we have established an urban touring network, working with 4 community venues to programme high quality family theatre across the venues on consecutive days over the Half Term holiday. From the beginning of 2016 a fifth venue will join the network, meaning that even more families throughout our area will be able to access some of the best family work on their doorstep.

We are now seeking applications for three scratch commissions of £4,000 for companies or artists to develop 20 minutes of work specifically designed for these venues and the communities they serve. The work will be shared with audiences over the Bank Holiday weekend at the beginning of May 2016. It is our intention to then provide ‘seed funding’ to support one of these commissions to full production.
