Knowsley: Spaces Photography Competition

Spaces is a Wellbeing Photography Competition, that invites you to showcase your creative talent and contribute to a new online photography gallery. It is open to people of all ages and ability who live, work, volunteer or study in the borough of Knowsley, to photograph and submit your interpretation of the theme of Spaces.

We would like you to capture through photography a Space that supports your Health and Wellbeing. What does Space mean to you?

Entry Categories
Which Space do you go to think? Where do you go to learn? Which Space do you like to meet in? As part of supporting you to achieve a happier, healthier way of life.

How to Enter
The way in which you can submit your entries (photograph and completed entry form) has various options, depending on which is easier for you:

Or entrants can join up and become a member of the projects Flickr page: – you need to create a login account with yahoo first, then click the button to ‘join’ as a member of ‘Knowsley Spaces’ group, the you can add your photo there. Don’t forget to add your name, artwork title and which category it is being submitted for in the text box that accompanies your photograph.

Online photography gallery
Using flickr (an online photo sharing website), Spaces aims to create a collaborative, Knowsley wide response to the Spaces theme, creating a gallery of wonderful and inspirational images of Knowsley.
Submitted photographs will be uploaded to flickr on a weekly basis and can be viewed at:

The judging panel includes a range of industry professionals. A ‘winner’ and a ‘winner under 18’ will be chosen for each category. You can also vote for your favourite photograph in the ‘people’s choice’ category by submitting a voting form

The winners will receive prizes as detailed below
Spaces to Think category: Winner £75, Winner under 18 £30
Spaces to Learn category: Winner £75, Winner under 18 £30
Spaces to Meet category: Winner £75, Winner under 18 £30
People’s Choice Winner: £75

All prizes will be in the form of ‘love2shop’ shop vouchers, under 18’s prizes will be ‘Odeon’ cinema vouchers. The three category ‘winners’ will see their work enlarged and exhibited at the Kirkby Centre.

ALL entries to the competition will feature in the 15th Knowsley Open Art Exhibition, at Huyton Gallery, 21 September – 9 January 2016.
