Freelance Artist
£240 day rate (£120 per half day)
BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art works with a team of Freelance Artists who deliver one-off workshops, commissioned activities and artwork and some longer term projects and residencies with a range of school groups, children and their families, communities and young people as part of our Learning and Civic Engagement Programme. These activities take place within BALTIC and, increasingly offsite in community spaces in the Tyne and Wear area and the wider North East region.

We are currently looking for 4 regionally based artists to join our existing team and to work with us on a freelance basis. Although we are interested in all applications, we are particularly keen to hear from artists with any the following skills, knowledge or experience:
- Socially engaged and collaborative arts practice
- Digital arts practice
- Performance and theatrical practice
- Illustration arts practice
- Costume design arts practice
Availability must include weekends. BALTIC is working towards achieving diversity and welcomes applications from all members of the community.

If successful you will be required to attend an induction at BALTIC. Freelance Artist work at BALTIC is offered on condition of DBS clearance which BALTIC provides, receipt of two satisfactory references and acceptance of terms laid out in BALTIC’s Freelance Agreement.
Must have eligibility to work in the UK.
