“Size matters” is a contrary response to the seemingly ubiquitous phrase, “Size doesn’t matter.”
In our upcoming exhibition, we aim to explore the beauty and intricacy of the very small in works of art.
Miniature Art has a long history that dates back to the medieval scribes and an often-used definition would be that it should fit on the palm of your hand – usually less than 100 square centimetres.
For our exhibition, we are “generously” looking for artworks that are up to 20cms x 20cms square including the frame in the case of 2D, or 20cms cubed in the case of 3D works.
We will allow some discretion either way depending on the particular shape and character of the work.
