Artists for Nature and Technology Symposium, Metal Liverpool

The symposium will focus on artists working with electronics or physical computing, who are making work which engages with the natural world. The day will be a mixture of critical discussion and a sharing of practical techniques. Artist Laura Pullig will present findings from her residency at METAL Liverpool, exploring the theme of Plants as Performers. Research during the residency has focused on exploring how analog instruments can interact with plants and their environment, working with sound artist Adam Cooper. The day will include a workshop demonstrating a new paper circuit, plant synth kit, developed during her residency. Invited artists will be asked to present their own work in a show and tell format and are invited to deliver a short creative workshop or demonstration exploring the themes of the symposium. Applications from women who have an interest in outdoor artworks and interventions are particularly welcome.

The symposium will take place on the 24th of March, all participating artists will be paid a £200 fee to cover their time and expenses.
