Deadline: 5pm on Monday 21 November. Paid.
Super Slow Way are now recruiting artists for our Community Residencies programme. Super Slow Way is part of Creative People and Places, a national action research programme funded by Arts Council England to test out new and experimental approaches to arts and cultural activity to build audiences and participants in areas currently shown to have low levels of engagement. We are working with residents, businesses, organisations and artists across Blackburn with Darwen, Hyndburn, Burnley and Pendle to support and develop models of socially engaged art practice.
Working authentically in collaboration with communities is fundamental to the success of Super Slow Way and our residencies are a key element of this. We support people to host artist residencies and offer artists the opportunity and time to build relationships in a process that is truly collaborative and meaningful. Our residencies are not led by end products but ask artists to respond to the context they are working in and nurture a meaningful creative process with the people who are their hosts and co-producers.
Please see our website (http://superslowway.org.uk//news/opportunities-for-artists) for full details of the different residencies available and for details of how to apply. The residencies are situated in a variety of contexts, settings and organisations within Pennine Lancashire and are each worth between £5,000 and £10,000. We welcome applications from all art forms, including but not restricted to, visual art in any medium, written and spoken word and performance.
Deadline for applications: 5pm on Monday 21 November.
