Large Artist Commissions 2017

FESTIVAL31 is commissioning a photographer from a refugee background who is interested in developing socially engaged practice.

The successful photographer will work alongside internationally renowned photojournalist Howard Davies to develop community photography workshops, the results of which will be exhibited during the festival.

The successful photographer will have professional experience and preferably have exhibited or published previously.

The successful applicant will need to commit to 3 days between mid April and mid May, in addition to attending events and presenting work during the festival (19th June – 19th July).


The fee for this commission will be £720. Photographers must have their own equipment and related insurance. We will cover the costs of a DBS check for the successful applicant.
