Barclays Wealth partners with Museum of Liverpool for exhibition sponsorship.
Barclays Wealth has announced a new annual partnership with the Museum of Liverpool, signifying its commitment to the local community and visitors to the region through arts and culture.
Barclays Wealth will be the first organisation to sponsor an exhibition in the new museum, which will open on 19 July. The exhibition ‘East Meets West: The Story of Shanghai and Liverpool’ will explore the fascinating relationship between Liverpool and Shanghai, within the Global City Gallery, one of the first galleries to open.
The Chair of National Museums Liverpool is Professor Phil Redmond CBE, the well known television screen writer and producer. Phil is an advocate for supporting and developing museums for the future.
Phil Redmond CBE and Chair said: “We are extremely pleased that sponsorship from Barclays Wealth recognises the importance of arts and culture, making it accessible to all. As both a benefactor and Chair of National Museums Liverpool, I also recognise that philanthropy is as much sound business as it is about charitable giving”.
“An informed and culturally stimulated population is also an inquisitive market place! What stimulates people’s interest stimulates its economy. This is as much a part of the story of the new Museum of Liverpool as is the celebration of a city, its people and its place in global history. We are delighted that Barclays Wealth wishes to support us in this venture”, he continued.
