Ant Hamlyn’s artistic practice is a manifestation of an obsessive fascination with space, time and existentialism. Most recently his work explores the physical and emotional responses of the audience to sculptural objects with associative connections to such things as the funfair, games and other playful encounters. The viewer is encouraged to engage, move, imagine, decide and explore within the work. These notions are investigated through the use of sculptural forms, arrived at through drawings, maquettes and contextual research and the use of a combination of materials such as wood, electronics and found objects to create a sense of intrigue and partial recognition’
