Another enjoyable long night in Liverpool last Thursday 18 November 2010. We only saw a small part of it, starting at the Philharmonic Hall where a.P.A.t.T and various other musicians started the Sound Relay which then paraded down to FACT, the Bluecoat and ending at Tate. We followed as far as FACT.

A reminder that the Fab Collective’s ‘Giraffe’ exhibition is on at St Luke’s (Bombed out) Church until the 28th along with Tony Phillips and Carolyn Shepherd’s works which look quite different in the dark.

The swan pedalo that used to be on the canal in Bootle has now been acquired by re-dock and is on show in the Cooperative space this week having been hacked by Soundnetwork so it now has strange sounds and illuminations, great fun.

At Octopi on Renshaw St there was a lot of sewing and other crafty things going on whilst the magician Alan Singleton amazed us with his trickery

There’s some fantastic jewellery by 8 Japanese artists in the new show at the Bluecoat Display Centre which opened on the night, the Sushi and Sake were popular too.

The Art Take-Away at Arena studios was very popular as it should be with artworks going for only £2 including chips (not real ones). It was a clever idea and very well executed, everything sold out  -even the Kitsch fritters!

The Under the Mud bus was offering a shuttle service round the various venues, good to see the bus is still going and I recommend you buy the video if you haven’t already.

Reverse the Wave were projecting their Subvertisements onto various building throughout the evening. This was a A Foundation.

We ended our journey at the A Foundation where Sachiko Abe had finished performing and showed Lewis Biggs of the Biennial and me how to cut paper into long thin strips. It’s not easy, my excuse is that the scissors were not designed for left-handers.
