Julian and Cynthia Lennon Open Their Exhibition

help-capeThe exhibition ‘White Feather: The Spirit of Lennon‘ was opened this evening by Julian and Cynthia Lennon at the Beatles Story venue in the new ferry terminal at the Pier Head.

After we’d had a look around the exhibition there was a question and answer session where the pair did a fine job of answering the usual questions about John,  times gone by, relationships, reconciliation etc.

I thought the most interesting bit was Julian’s explanation of his White Feather Foundation which is a sort of umbrella organisation helping various charities ‘For the Conservation of Life’. Like too many people, Julian seems to have a problem getting websites organised, both this and his own website are ‘coming soon’. There is a dedicated website for the exhibition though.

The exhibition is quite interesting once you get past the collection of gold disks, there’s some really nice pictures and some quite touching family postcards and letters. The videos and audio featuring Cynthia and Julian talking about various things are interesting too.

Apparently when John died Julian didn’t  inherit anything so he’s been steadily buying up items for the collection – difficult to imagine him spending hours bidding on ebay but maybe he has.

You can visit the exhibition on its own or as part of the Albert Dock Beatles Story. Details of admission are on the website.
