Nice review of Antbear’s exhibition plus gigs in today’s Daily Post by Philip Key.
There’s another gig on Wednesday Feb 14th 2007 starting at 20.00
ONE of Liverpool’s more interesting bands has brought a touch of the bohemian lifestyle to the city’s View Two Gallery.
For the next three weeks, Antbear will not only be playing gigs at the gallery, but also displaying its members’ fine artwork. “This was an opportunity we could not turn down,” explains lead singer Chiz Turnross, 41, musician and some-time art lecturer. The band has been together for the past two years, although its five members have had a variety of backgrounds.
It all made for a highly entertaining exhibition opening night, with not only the band playing in the Mathew Street gallery, but some of its musical friends, including the bands Wave Machines, The ASBOs and Emily Lansley, joining the fun. On the walls were the band’s own idiosyncratic works of art.
Exhibition runs at View Two until March 3 2007
