Another of this evening’s events from the AND Festival. A lot more serious and unsettling, I hadn’t realised there would be audio and the sound of guns along with the projections – makes it a lot more dramatic. Look out for this at various venues in the evenings.

A new large-scale video projection by Krzysztof Wodiczko for public spaces in Liverpool.
Representing Poland at this year’s Venice Biennale, Krzysztof Wodiczko is one of the most prominent Polish artists renowned internationally for his socially engaged work employing large scale slide and video projections. Wodiczko is interested in the situation of soldiers who fought during recent armed conflicts and are returning to civilian life. The artist will work with men and women from the Northwest who have experienced active duty in the armed forces. The aim of the project is to foster a better understanding of the impact of social reintegration on veterans and their families following their return.
This will be the first time Wodiczko has shown work in the UK since the 1980s.
POLSKA! YEAR comprises over 200 projects presenting the most interesting achievements of Polish culture to the British public. The cultural programme is coordinated by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, which is responsible for the promotion of Polish culture abroad. To find out more visit www.polskayear.pl
