Had a couple of days out of Liverpool. On Wednesday Sept 5 2007 we went to the Tenori-on Launch Event at the Mint Lounge in Manchester. The Tenori-on is an electronic musical instrument created by the Japanese media artist Toshio Iwai and is now being manufactured by Yamaha and currently only available from a few shops in the UK.
We saw Toshio play the prototype at Futuresonic in 2006 so it was good to see this finished product. Its an amazing instrument which I think will prove very popular, the first batch has sold out already. It was also demonstrated by Robert Lippok (from To Rococo Rot), Secondo and Graham Massey from 808 State.
