Canadian experimental filmmaker Tracy German
TAO International Gallery
34a Slater St, Liverpool, L1

Tracy German MFA is a Toronto-based independent filmmaker and artist who has completed a variety of experimental 16mm films/videos and installations over the past fourteen years. On Thursday May 31st she will be in attendance at The Art Organisation (TAO) International Gallery – Liverpool to exhibit a rare retrospective of her work, made within the Canadian Experimental tradition of the Escarpment School.

In these films and videos she turns the camera on herself and the landscape around her as means to poetically re- contextualize, abstract and ephemeral qualities of life: past, present, future, memory, emotions, time and space. Building an intricate patch work of visual/aural quilts that speak subtly and sublimely to the journey of life: of grieving and loss, of happiness and sadness, as well as the joyful and reverent gestures of living.
