‘The Last Days of Man’ at museumMAN, Liverpool May 19th – 21st May 2006 being organised by Calum F.Kerr
A weekend long continuous event featuring a series of performances from the balcony of museumMAN, Liverpool (19th-21st May 2006)
DATES: Friday May 19th – Opening from 6pm
Balcony Witness: Construction of ideal ‘points of view’ for the performances on the balcony (which overlooks the whole of Liverpool) and making of banners of intent (ongoing). Performances can also be seen from Liverpool City
Centre from points marked on a map found in museumMAN.
Saturday May 20th – 6pm Onwards Balcony Wail: ‘The Lonesome Cowboys from Hell’, Frank E. the Lonely Woodsman & Blind ‘Gentleman’ Jk-ee present a music night in tribute to John E. Cashmoney (Nick Haughton 1955-2006). There will also be a screening of the film ‘Looking for John E.’ with special guest Raul Pina, the solo laptop mariachi band and other musical wailers.
Sunday May 21st Balcony Confessions: The Reverend Marc Vaulbert will be taking confession on the balcony throughout the day. Calum F. Kerr will be updating and re-living passages from Olaf Stapledon’s novels ‘Last & First Men’ and ‘Starburst’ throughout the event. Stapledon’s work is archived in nearby Liverpool University as part of Britain’s only dedicated Science Fiction Library. A shelter on the balcony will be constructed with aid from visitors in response to these writings.
