Terry Duffy MONUMENTS Talk at Cathedral

The Dean and Chapter of Liverpool Cathedral and the artist Terry Duffy cordially invite you to a final Private Viewing of MONUMENTS. This important installation has been installed specifically during Lent. The exhibition is open until Sunday 29th March after which the installation will be dismantled to go on exhibition in London and after that to Venice during the Biennale in June. Terry Duffy has kindly offered to undertake a talk about the MONUMENTS installation and his other works, see details below.
MONUMENTS is coordinated by The British Art and Design Association London.  The MONUMENTS installation by the international artist Terry Duffy is an important pan European project which has been installed and will be installed in key locations during significant festivals: Martins Bank Building during the Liverpool Capital of Culture in 2008, Liverpool Anglican Cathedral during Lent 2009, 41 Lothbury opposite the Bank of England and in Venice during the 2009 Biennale. After Venice there are plans in process for Istanbul during the 2009 Biennial or 2010 as European Capital of Culture. Other future locations are in the pipeline. To-date major sponsors include Barclays Bank PLC, Urban Splash PLC, Sotheby’s Realty, Venetion Apartments, PH Holt Foundation and the Church of England as well as many other companies and individuals. In Venice it will be promoted by The British Council.
Other major works by Terry Duffy on temporary loan to the Cathedral include the large scale crucifix ‘Victim, no resurrection’ and also the ‘The RS Thomas Trpitych’.
