City Centre Gallery Launches This Week

Two new galleries open this week – with very similar names.

On Friday 30 October 2009 The Gallery Liverpool opens in Stanhope Street then on Saturday 31st The Gallery opens on the first floor of Clayton Square shopping centre. This could get quite confusing but at least its good to see more galleries opening.

Here is the PR for The Gallery (that’s the one in Clayton Sq.) run by Madelaina…

The doors of The Gallery – Liverpool’s Best Kept Secret, will open on Saturday 31st October at Clayton Square, Shopping Centre, L1 1QR.

The event will be launched by Mr Pete Price from Radio City in his disguise as Count Dracula, with guest appearances from The Lady Mayoress, Mrs Kathryn Hodson. There are many Halloween themed activities on the day for the family plus an art workshop for children in The Gallery!

The Gallery has an informal feel to it and is one of its kinds. It abolishes the stereotypical pretensions of other galleries which can be intimidating and makes art accessible for the whole community. With an L1 postcode it is a hotspot for all visitors to the city!

During the day, Madelaina (The Director and Celebrity Portrait Artist) can be seen exposing her skills as she paints within the window and has adopted the moniker of ‘The Naked Artist’. Each month the window will change and reveal a new talent as local guest artists exhibit their work. The first guest this November is Mr Keith Francis Smith with his sensational Liverpool Landscapes!

The Gallery is on the first floor of Clayton Square Shopping Centre where it is open from Thursday through until Sunday between 12.30hrs – 18.00hrs (17.00hrs close Sun.)

So why not put yourself in the picture and visit The Gallery – Liverpool’s Best Kept Secret! Survey the hidden talents of Merseyside Artists; have a coffee with the ‘Naked Artist’ and just maybe consider being ‘immortalised on canvas!’ yourself!
