This is Kirby’s most iconic film poster, painted for Feref from an Eddie Paul design to promote the third Star Wars film in Britain. A collage of characters are organised in photo-realistic style around the figures of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, whose gown conveniently serves as an artistic device to merge the central action with the surrounding universe. The poster is regarded by Star Wars aficionados as special, being one of the few to feature the Royal Guards (red gowns, upper right), Boushh (masked, lower right) and Boba Fett (masked, firing weapon, far left).
