Liverpool artwork of the day – Tuesday June 19 2007. ‘Kaleidoscope’ by Gillian Durnan at Dot-Art

Gillian Durnan is the latest of Dot-Art artists to be talking about their work at the eat-art event at Malmaison Hotel restaurant.
It takes place tomorrow June 20th anf I think there are still places available.
Tickets cost just £29 per person – please call the Malmaison direct on 0151 2295000 to book.

Gillian Durnan studied art and design in Manchester and Liverpool, graduating in 2004 with a first class honours degree in fine art with music. using photography, drawing and painting techniques, mainly sourced from nature and the human figure, images are further manipulated with digital software.

The artist uses brightly saturated colours and bold imagery for printing directly onto acrylic sheets. this technique involves printing images at high resolution onto acrylic, using state of the art print machines. pieces are mounted away from the wall with architectural fixings, allowing illumination from natural light sources. mounted in this way, images convey a high-tech, contemporary feel.
