Liverpool artwork of the day – Wednesday February 28 2007. ‘Saviour’ Photography by Colin Serjent – Red-Dot
In abstract mood today – can’t get my head round the fact that February has been and gone in the blink of an eye.
We don’t see a lot of abstract photography especially here in Liverpool where people are falling over each other to portray the lovely architecture or the grimy cityscapes or the lovely/grimy people.
So thankfully we have Colin Serjent who’s been exhibiting his photography regularly for years. He currently has a piece in the Overview 07 exhibition at Cornerstone.
These are not digital manipulations, they are the real thing. This looks like a close up of a tree trunk but you can never be sure what they are – just naturally created interesting colours, shapes, textures.
Serjent is also a co-director (along with Sue Milburn) of Red Dot Exhibitions. They have organised many exhibitions in this area and plan to hold a visual arts festival in June, so look out for that.
