Local artist represents Liverpool at prestigious London event.

Liverpool based artist Parabhen Lad, was chosen to demonstrate the wealth of artistic talent in the city at the World Travel Market exhibition this week.

Visit Britain approached city centre art gallery and consultancy dot-art, to find them an artist who could create quick sketches of visitors to their stand at this high profile event, in order to promote the city’s Capital of Culture status in 2008.

Parabhen was chosen from a shortlist of talented artists provided by dot-art, as Visit Britain were delighted with her stunning charcoal and pastel sketches, which she was able to complete under strict time constraints.

Staged annually in London, World Travel Market is a must attend, business to business exhibition. It provides a unique opportunity for the whole global travel trade industry to meet, network, negotiate, conduct business and stay abreast with the latest developments in the travel industry.

Anna Maloney, the Liverpool 08 promotions manager for Visit Britain, explains the importance of the event and her reasons for involving Parabhen-
