The Lowry is looking to appoint an excellent youth participation facilitator (Theatre and drama) to support the national tour of Who Cares by Matt Woodhead, Artistic Director of award winning Theatre Company & Lowry Associate Artists- LUNG.
We are looking for a highly motivated, creative and experienced facilitator who will work as part of a team to develop and deliver creative content to support the tour of the play to youth and education settings across Greater Manchester and nationally.
Who Cares examines the hidden lives of young carers and the pressure placed upon them and aims to identify hidden young carers to sign post them onto support. It is a verbatim play based on a year of interviews with Young Carers in Salford.
Alongside the production, The Lowry will deliver an extensive wrap-around programme of creative education and youth activities to support young audiences to interpret the show and to facilitate on-going support beyond the performance.
The tour will link to local Young Carers Services in each area to ensure that newly identified carers can access support, whilst also offering resources and professional development opportunities which will better equip youth settings, schools and arts venues to work creatively together with hard-to-reach or vulnerable young people.
