Leeds College of Art has played a central role in providing specialist education in art, design and the crafts for more than 150 years and has a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our past students. On the 1st August 2011 we became the country’s newest Higher Education Institution.
As an institution we have decided that we want to encourage children to study Art and Design from an early age, and help them realise that in the long term there are a wide range of future careers and opportunities open to them if they do choose to study Art and Design. To this end we launched the Children’s Art School targeted at children between the ages of 9 and 18 outside our main HE and FE programmes in 2013. This is a fee paying provision and runs on a Saturday morning and during school holidays. The area has grown in the last three years and we have a vision for its future growth.
We are looking for a confident, self-motivated individual, to continue to lead the development and management of our newly renamed Young Creatives’ Art School. The post holder will develop the content and assist in the delivery of the courses and need to be able to teach on one of the programmes. They will be responsible for giving support and advice to staff and students associated with this provision.
The post holder will initially be working 18.5 hours per week on a Fixed Term Contract of up to 12 months, the hours may increase as the School grows, and if the venture is successful it is anticipated that this will become a permanent role. You will need to be available to work on a Saturday morning in this role.
CV’s will not be accepted for this position.
Closing date: Monday 12th October 2015 at 5.00pm
Interviews will be held on Friday 23rd October 2015
