For this year’s, Big Draw Event, there will be a wide range of events and activities to get everybody involved in creativity and drawing whilst enjoying the great surrounding of our amazing arts and heritage venues.
The 2014 Big Draw will take place across the UK and in twenty other countries, with 280,000 people expected to join in over 1000+ events. The Big Draw offers thousands of enjoyable, and mainly free, drawing activities which will connect people of all ages with museums, outdoor spaces, artists, designers, illustrators – and each other.
These events are for those who love to draw, as well as for those who think they can’t!
Big Big Drawing at Birkenhead Priory
4 October, 11am – 4pm
Create the biggest drawing you can in the beautiful surroundings of Birkenhead Priory.
All ages are welcome to come and join in the fun using fantastic, messy materials such as charcoal, chalk, pastels and paint to create big beautiful drawings of the building and its surrounding architecture.
The White Gallery in Williamson Art Gallery & Museum
11 October, 11am – 4pm, Ongoing until 2 November
Gallery 6 is being turned over to the budding artists of Wirral to create, draw and make it colourful. The gallery will be very white, very clean and very dull!
From 11am on Saturday 11 October, visitor of all ages are invited to add their drawings and creativity to make the space colourful and glorious….and the cafe will be transformed too so you can doodle while you eat.
Family Day with a Closing Party at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum: Doodle Bots
Sunday 2 November, 11am – 4pm
To end the month of Big Draw events, head to the Williamson to make your very own Doodle Bots. You decide how big, small fast or slow you want to make your robot, set it down on the drawing paper, switch it on and watch it make amazing doodles and marks on the paper.
