Commissioned by the Liverpool Culture Company and produced and directed by Liverpool-based Jen Heyes and her company Cut to the Chase Productions, (Talking Heads, The Vagina Monologues and Therese Raquin), Wall Talks is an outstanding production, which puts the audience right in the very centre of the action.
Wall Talks takes the audience on a journey of memories, shadows, dreams and half seen pictures of the past, where ghosts are unleashed from the ancient walls of the city and allowed to retell events they have witnessed from the city’s past.
Created by Jen Heyes and writer Andrew Sherlock (The Girls who came to stay, Granada TV) the drama unfolds against the backdrop of the atmospheric surroundings of Liverpool’s Tobacco Warehouses at the Stanley Dock Market; specifically chosen for the richness of its unique industrial history.
Wall Talks aims to explore ‘the Liverpool self’ and how our identities have morphed over time.
The play also provides a platform for the talent and skill that Liverpool has to offer, as many of the performers and crew originate from the city; some well-known names, some not.
Previews run from 5 to 9 June, tickets cost £7. Performances run from 12 to 30 June, 7.30pm. Tickets cost £12 and £10. Concessions are available.
